Justin, an esteemed figure in the world of snowboarding, biking and passion for sustainability. Justin’s illustrious career as a professional snowboarder saw him reach the pinnacle of success. He claimed a silver medal at the 2013 FIS Snowboarding World Championships and proudly stood as a ten-time national champion. His dedication and skill led him to be the sole American male snowboarder to compete in both the parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
With an impressive record of 100 starts in the FIS Snowboard World Cup, Justin achieved four podium finishes, including a historic win in Moscow in 2015—the first for an American in a parallel competition in a decade. He also clinched third place in the overall parallel standings for the 2014-15 season, underscoring his consistency and prowess on the global stage.
Beyond his competitive achievements, Justin is known for his advocacy for the sport. In 2016, he took a stand for snowboarding’s integrity and progression by filing a suit against the International Olympic Committee to retain parallel slalom in the Olympic program.
After announcing his retirement in September 2017, Justin transitioned seamlessly into coaching, where he has mentored notable athletes such as Michael Trapp, Robby Burns, and Olympic champion Ester Ledecká. His transition from athlete to coach was driven by his passion for the sport and his commitment to nurturing the next generation of champions.
He has maintained most of his sponsor relationships since retiring, working as an ambassador for Big Agnes, Yeti Cycles, Point 6 Merino and Topo Designs.
